OUR STORY Classical Child Music is dedicated to producing enriching music that encourages children's creativity and leaves plenty of room for fun. Started by Anastasi Mavrides and Donna O'Sullivan in 1987, C.C.M. was one of the first record companies to establish a footing in the classical music for kids arena with its Classical Child Series. It was created to capture the hearts and minds of children with interesting, fun and non-traditional arrangements of classical themes. Mavrides, the producer and arranger of the series, conceived the idea when his daughter, Sophia, was a toddler. He looked for an imaginative way to introduce her to the world of classical music. The first release, The Classical Child Is Born, continues to be one of the best selling and best loved albums for infants. Since that time, seven more "children" have joined the family-- The Classical Child Dreams, The Classical Child at Play, The Classical Child's Christmas, The Classical Child at the Ballet, The Classical Child at the Opera, and Early to Bed & Early to Rise. Each volume features playful interpretations of the works of such composers as Mozart, Beethoven and Bach. As a company, we have developed an exciting format for young listeners filled with the spirit of growth and creativity. We are committed to extending the boundaries of quality children's entertainment. Our philosophy is that music should do more than simply pacify, it should stimulate, enrich and delight children.
